Ceiling Light Guards: Protecting Your Fixtures In At Risk Environments

Ceiling Light Cages with T-Bar Clips: Safe, Smart, and Simple to Install

When it comes to protecting overhead lighting, a guard should do more than keep fixtures safe—it should install cleanly, stay secure, and look like it belongs. That’s exactly what Chase Security’s ceiling light cages deliver. Designed with thoughtful mounting hardware and built for long-term durability, these cages safeguard fluorescent and LED lights without sacrificing ease of use or visual appeal.

Drop Ceiling Light Cages — Secure Installation Without Drilling

One of the standout features of Chase Security’s drop ceiling cages is the custom T-bar clip system. Unlike generic solutions, our T-bar clips:

  • Attach directly to drop ceiling rails without the hassle of drilling holes— installers use a screwdriver to tighten and secure each clip. Each T-bar clip ships with screws already in place for secure fastening, so installers have everything required for a quick and safe install.
  • They are fabricated from steel (not aluminum), giving them outstanding strength and long-term reliability.
  • Allow for balanced installation — Insert the base ring of the wire cage into the center of each clip, align with the ceiling grid, press the ends together, and tighten the screws. Installers often alternate corners to keep the cage perfectly level. Most standard drop-ceiling cages use four T-bar clips — one at each corner — to distribute weight and maintain safety compliance evenly.

These drop-ceiling cages — including the CSGW 24241W-4 and CSGW 48241W-4 in the Chase Security lighting guard lineup — fit most standard 2″ × 2″ and 4″ × 2″ fluorescent and LED panel lights commonly used in schools, offices, and public buildings. Installation of these models is demonstrated here (See below), making it easy to see how the T-bar clips work in real applications.

Recessed Light & Hard Deck Applications — Deeper Cages, Same Simplicity

For ceilings without standard grid systems, or for recessed fixtures, Chase Security offers cages like the CSGW 24241W-8 and CSGW 48241W-8. These models include eight wraparound clips that attach to hard deck or drywall ceilings. The deeper cages typically use additional clips to handle the added depth and weight, ensuring secure anchoring for recessed fixtures.

Need even more clearance? Our CSGW 48256-8 provides a deeper cage profile ideal for surface-mounted or larger recessed lighting.
